We took Trinity and her friend to the science museum today, and they had such a blast! There was so much to see, do, explore, and learn! Trinity most liked the funny mirrors, the blocks table, the water table, and the sand tables. We spent the whole day and got lots of great shots!
Our sweet angel surprised us today with a slew of new words that she magically must have memorized overnight, though we haven't practiced any more since my last post on the subject. Let's add giraffe, ear, gorilla, arms up, eyes, and cats to the list, which seems to be growing by the day. We are so amazed by our sweet little girl!
With the new baby here, and Joe home helping around the house, we've decided it's time to start working on the "big girl potty". We got some training pants for Trin, and tomorrow, we're starting her "potty boot camp". Let's see how it all goes... (Trin has not been receptive to using the potty prior to now) Wish us luck!
We went to the Arboretum today and had some family pictures taken..LOTS of pictures! We'll get them later this week, but here's a sneak peak of a couple!
So the last couple months have been a little rocky in Trinity's reading lessons. Some days she would cooperate, and some days not. Sometimes we'd catch her reading the words in her Your Baby Can Read dvd's, but others not. We began to wonder whether or not she was really soaking all this in... until..we realized it's really more a question of motivation. Joe tried something new recently, and it shed a whole new light on our "darling" little angel. He starts swinging her (her favorite thing), then stops her midway time to time and asks her a question. If she answers correctly, she keeps swinging. If she doesn't answer, she stays mid-air. Well what wonders never cease, all the sudden Trinity is reading the following: tongue, hat, ball, car, keys, nose, tiger, cup, dog, clap, wave, mouth, hi, elephant, toes, among a few others from her video that I can't remember off the top of my head. In addition, she also spelled her name T R I N I T Y (though she missed one letter in the video). It seems Trinity knows a lot more than she lets on, she only chooses whether or not to let us know that. Awnry girl (but so smart!)..
Ginny and I would like to thank all of our family and friends who have been so supportive during the pregnancy and birth of Trinity.
You have all helped to spoil this little girl in so many ways.
I would like to give a special thank you to Dr Allen, Aimee, and Stacy. I truly feel that without these three people, this experience would not be near what it has been. Thank you so much for your time, understanding, and dedication!
