So Joe and I have made the decision to start the kiddos off with home-schooling, as opposed to public school. We both felt that with as much as we work with them on a regular basis, public school would be too slow paced (not to mention several steps back) for them. Of course, this will be a trial, and if we feel in the future that the kids would be happier in public school, we will revisit the alternative. But until then, since that's the route we're going, we decided, "why not start Trinity now?" She's already very eager to learn, and we'll make it a fun experience for her. In addition, it gives us a good idea of what we're getting into before she's old enough to be required to know such said subjects. We've also joined our Anna Homeschool Co-Op, which offers extracurricular classes, as well as support groups and meetups so the children get plenty of socialization. We're very pleased with the support we have at our hands.
Trinity's first day of "school" started yesterday, and here's a few shots of her diving into the subjects! She enjoyed learning more about cows, and calfs, as well as the letter "A", and the number "1". We are also covering some light geography (I can't hold her attention on any one thing for too long just yet) - she is pointing to where we live on the map BTW. Lastly, we're working more diligently on our reading and spelling skills. So far, so good!
