Christmas!

Well, this year we all celebrated our first Christmas as a real family. I can never thank God enough for this blessing.. we all woke up and sang our customary "Happy Birthday" song to Jesus, got some breakfast into Trinity, then dove into the pile of presents under the tree. Trinity didn't quite get the hang of unwrapping, she just tried to eat the paper. :) When it was all said and done, we just played with Trinity all day long and showed her how her new toys worked and had a wonderful time. Joe and I really tried to get her "learning" toys this year, which included a Leapfrog activity table, a Leapfrog phonics learning toy, one of those stuffed dogs that tells you the body parts, a Fisher Price "ball popper" - which she really just tries to eat the balls once they fall onto the floor, a Leapfrog ABC's learning drum, and a couple other things I can't remember. She got lots of stuffed animals, clothes, books, and toys from family and friends, and we're so incredibly grateful to everyone! Thank you! Trinity had an amazing day, and we took a million pictures!
As far as development, Trinity is content right now doing her own thing. She chases the cat more than ever (though much faster and often catches her), sometimes screaming with excitement as she does this. She's discovered that she loooves to be "nakie" and tries to squirm and get away everytime we try to change her diaper or dress her after a bath. Sometimes we let her play in just her diaper, and when we do, she's ALL smiles and squeals. It's hilarious! She's also pulling herself up into a standing position, especially around the couch and in her crib. She's still working on getting down, and HATES when she falls on her little rump! She's still saying "nana" to get my attention, and "dada", as well as kitty. We thought she maaay have said "more" last night when we were giving her dinner, we'll keep an ear out for that again.
Here's some pictures for everyone to enjoy!

Christmas is just around the corner!

Well, Trinity is just a couple days shy of 7 months old, and she'll be having her first Christmas in less than a week! Joe and I are so excited, and we can't wait to see her opening her presents, playing with her toys, and wearing all her cute new clothes! I've said it a million times and I'll never stop meaning it, that Trinity is our present from God this year, and nothing we ever get in the future will compare - though I know we'll say the same thing if we should be blessed with another baby in the future. Trinity has such wonderful family, and friends, and I wanted to give a big Thank You to everyone who thought of her this year. She has so many gifts under the tree she'll be simply overwhelmed. This year it's all about her, and we LOVE it that way! We're going to capture as much as we can in pictures and video shots, but I also want us to just enjoy the moment with her, get into the excitement, and really bond over our very first Christmas as a complete family. We feel so blessed to have so much love in our home, when so many people don't even have that luxury.
Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you all have a day as wonderful as we will!

First Word?

Well, after days of learning she can chase our cat around the house, Trinity may have said her first word. We were watching the cat, and Trinity said "thiddy", which I think she meant as "kitty". I was hoping to hear a momma, or mommy first, but then again that may happen soon enough anyway. After all, thiddy isn't really a word lol. I can take or leave that as her first word, perhaps, a first attempt. Here's another video of her chasing Rajah around the living room as well. :)

Little Miss Independent!

I think all this crawling is going to Trinity's head. :) She is all over the place! She loves creeping up on the cat when she's sleeping so she can grab another chunk of fur out, and she loves getting into daddy's pc/tv cords. Now it's time to babyproof for sure! All day yesterday she kept going back to the electronics, and when I told her in a stern voice, "no ma'am you cannot play with that" she'd look up at me and GRIN the biggest smile as if to say back "ha ha mommy I know I'm not supposed to be here and I'm doing it anyway". Sigh..
She's also getting in a habit of not eating unless she can take the spoon herself and feed herself. This results in changing her clothes a couple times a day and washing the dining room area down more than I'd like due to sploshed vegetables. She must LOVE getting food on her face and in her hair, but she hates having mommy clean her up! She also wants to drink her milk in a sippy cup, but she still doesn't have the coordination down to get enough out to account for how much she'd normally be getting from her bottle.
Yesterday Joe was playing on the floor with her, and he had his legs blocking her from crawling over to where I was - wrapping some presents a couple feet away. She put her hands on his leg, stood up, and climbed over his leg! Sure enough, she was over to me in just a minute.
I think Miss Independent should be Trinity's new name. She's always had that streak in her, but it's showing up more now that she can do more about it. We've got our hands full!

Crawling!

What's sad is she's already gotten better at crawling since I took this video - only yesterday! Our little sweetie is growing up too fast!
